Presbytery Digest November 19, 2011 First Presbyterian Church in Lockport, NY Attendance: Ministers-45; Elders-40; Council Members–2; Christian Educators–1; Guests–8 Highlights of the Meeting: • Rev. Jim Hardy spoke about the history of the Church including the 22 Tiffany Windows. • Rev. Allison Seed (Representative of the Board of Pensions) introduced herself and spoke briefly about the increases to the Medical/Pension Dues. • Rev. Jim Walker presented on the topic of the Nature of the Church Today. Rev. Walker also preached during the worship service. • Committee on Ministry Moderator Rev. Amy Jelensperger informed the Presbytery that if the way be clear, Rev. Jim Brazell will become member in the Presbytery of Cincinnati and Rev. Jim Burton has retired. • Council presented eight other overtures for First Reading. These overtures will be voting on at the January Presbytery Meeting. • Niagara United Church concurred with Colonial Village's Overture to General Assembly. Presbytery voted on the following: • The nominating committee presented several names for committees: Committee on Ministry - Rev. Dave Kunselman; Rev. Lowell Avery; Elder Florence Evans (Riverside); Elder Maria Glass (Wayside); Outreach Team - Molly Gray (Westminster). There were several other names given. They were elected on first ballot. • Overture from Colonial Village was amended by the Presbytery. Then on the vote for the amended overture it was defeated. • Overture from Knox was defeated. • Mason Miller was enrolled as an Inquirer Next Meeting January 28, 2011 at Wayside in Hamburg
