Wurffel-Sills Student Loan & Scholarships
The applications for the Interest-Free Loans and Scholarships are available to all active members of a Presbyterian Church in the Synod of the Northeast for the upcoming school year (2009-2010) from "The Karl, John, Elizabeth Wurffel Memorial Fund" and "The Allie L. Sills Memorial Fund."
The actual application and essay are due in the Synod April 1st and supporting documents to the application are due on April 15th.
The program is for individuals who are or will be pursuing higher education goals and will be attending undergraduate, graduate or educational programs at accredited institutions on a full-time basis, within the United States and Canada are welcome to apply.
All applications for the upcoming school year are reviewed by the Individual Grants Task Force. Three applications are chosen for scholarships. Those not chosen for the scholarship program will be reviewed for eligibility to receive an interest-free loan.
There applications are different for re-applicants and new applicants and are available in either MS Word or PDF. They can be downloaded from the Synod’s website at http://www.synodne.org/mediagallery/album.php?aid=126&page=1 .
Re-applicants = 2009-2010 Wurffel-Sills re-applicant Form). The re-applicants need to submit the application form and an essay.
New applicants = 2009-2-2 Wurffel-Sills New Applicant Form). The new applicant has to also submit supporting documents with the application and essay.
