Clarence First Presbyterian Church celebrates the completion of the columbarium
The long awaited columbarium is in place in the outside (west) wall of the walkway between the original and new sanctuaries! As we watched the installation of the final granite square, we realized that this addition to our church is indeed fit and proper, tasteful and altogether a fulfillment of our dreams and plans. We know the congregation agrees, as only 21 niches remain of the first 56 spaces installed. Of course, expansion is planned for on either side of the central unit. The first internment took place on October 6th. October 18: Clarence Main Street Pilgrimage Rev. Judith Brown Bryan will lead this special session of the Community Forum events, an activity of Clarence First Presbyterian Church, scheduled after the 10 am worship service on Sundays. We will carpool to historic Clarence Hollow, site of the original church building constructed in the early 1840's (and still a landmark in Clarence Hollow), have lunch on our walking journey back to the current church building, pausing at each stop with reminders of how God has faithfully accompanied the people of Clarence and listening for a new call in this time and place. Participants should bring a bag lunch or purchase one from the Clarence Deli in the Hollow. All ages will be participating. The event (just under a 3 mile walk) will take place rain or shine. Below are photos of the original church and the new church.
