FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, BUFFALO, NEEDS DRIVERS FOR TUTORING PROGRAM

First Presbyterian Church, (FPC) Buffalo, has a terrific after-school tutoring program for neighborhood Westside children.  Many of the children are from African refugee families. Our partner in this program is Orchard Park Presbyterian Church, whose congregation members come into the city to tutor the youth. The tutoring takes place on Wednesdays from 3:30 p.m. to 5p.m., when school is in session. It's picture perfect, except this year we need transportation for the children.

We need two to three licensed drivers to pick up children at their homes and drop them at FPC, andthen we need drivers to drive the children home after the program. Each driver would have three addresses, all in close proximity to each other. The estimated driving time is 20 minutes each way. People could volunteer for one way transportation or both. If interested, we can also supply additional information about becoming a tutor. All drivers undergo a background check in accordance with our child protection policy, and seat belts are required for all passengers.

NEWS FROM CLARENCE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH REGARDING THEIR DEDICATION CELEBRATION, SEPTEMBER 12 AND 13

Over the past year, Clarence Presbyterian Church has had a massive expansion and renovation project. This September, we’re celebrating the conclusion of what has been many years of preparation and hard work. Our church now has a larger sanctuary to account for our growing congregation, a new multipurpose room, larger gathering spaces, a new kitchen, and a new Columbarium. Additionally, we are proud to have a church that is more handicapped friendly than before with entrances at grade and with a new modern elevator.

With our expansion and renovation project concluding, we would like to invite the greater community to visit Clarence Presbyterian Church during our Dedication Celebration on the weekend of September 12th and 13th. That Saturday, we will be conducting tours of our new facilities as well as hosting a Chicken and & Ribs BBQ Dinner. Later that evening, we will also have a free concert for all to enjoy. Then on Sunday morning, we will be having our Dedication Service. Everyone is welcome to attend any or all of these events, and is certainly encouraged to do so!  If you would like more information, you can call our church office at 759-8396, or visit: http://www.clarencepresby.org

WNY APOLOGETICS ROUNDTABLE SCHEDULED FOR SEPTEMBER 13

You are invited to the next WNY Apologetics Roundtable event on Sunday, September 13, 2009 at 6:30pm hosted by Kenmore Alliance Church.  Our guest speaker will be Dr. Bill Cliff, professor of biology at Niagara University, presenting a talk titled, "The Evidence of Fulfilled Prophecy: A Neglected Apologetic?"

The talk will examine Biblical prophecies about people, places, and events that were fulfilled centuries after they were written. Do these count as good evidence for the truth and divine origin of The Bible?  Come and decide for yourself.  Please bring friends.  Free refreshments will also be available.  For more information, see the attached flyer or visit
