Benefit for East Africans Scheduled for September 11th On Friday, September 11, 2009 the first major fund-raising event for Future In Our Hands-USA, will be held at the Sonoma Grill, 5010 Main Street in Williamsville from 6-9 PM. Future In Our Hands-USA (FIOH-USA) is a non-profit organization, which was created in response to the dire needs of people in East Africa. Sister Linda Glaeser, SSJ and Michele Sprada, both from Buffalo, NY, founded FIOH-USA. These women have traveled to East Africa many times and work directly with the people in need. • Financing micro-loans for women’s groups;
• Preventing the spread of HIV/AIDS through education and treatment programs;
• Providing school fees so impoverished children can get an education. This special benefit will include a theme basket raffle and several door prizes. Appetizers will be served as well as snacks, homemade desserts, coffee, tea, soda and a cash bar. Live music will be provided by Cold Blues.
