RANDOLPH UNITED PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH UNDERTAKES LOCAL MISSION PROJECT
Sponsored by the Randolph United Presbyterian Church’s Catalyst Team, a local mission project to replace a roof for a family in the Randolph area commenced on one of the hottest days of the year. Assistance through insurance coverage is addressing interior damage caused by a fierce storm that blew through the area. Support for this work and for the family is both comprehensive and continuing.

SOUTHERN TIER CTMT NIXON NETWORK MEEETING HELD
The PWNY Congregational Transformation Ministry Team continues to follow-up on Nixon I Refuse to Lead a Dying Church retreats through network meetings held in the geographic areas of the participants. The Southern Tier network met recently at the home of Janita Byars in Jamestown. Participants included Revs. Stephen Morse (Westfield), Thomas Sweet (Jamestown), Leslie Latham (Randolph), Jason Cashing (Franklinville), Lowell Avery (Cleveland Drive –moderator of the meeting), Mary Lee Talbot (PWNY), and John Woodring (Cuba/Allegany).
LEWISTON FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH HOSTS VBS
The congregation of First Presbyterian Church of Lewiston supported a rich VBS program for approximately 45 children. In addition, teens from the church and community served as “shepherds” to guide the young children through the evening. Included in each evening’s events were dinner, music, crafts, games, story time, and closing reflections. The week concluded with a cook-out/pot-luck dinner and a Bike-a-thon to earn money for Operation Wildlife Rescue in the Gulf.

MISSIONARY VISIT AT YOUNGSTOWN PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
On Friday, July 16th, Larry and Barbara Moir enjoyed a pot-luck dinner at Youngstown Presbyterian Church and gave a presentation on their mission work in Ethiopia. Rev. Larry Moir is a past student summer intern at the Youngstown Church, and his mother, Alice Diez, was a member. Over 50 people enjoyed the fellowship and presentation. New and slightly used tee shirts, which will be shipped, and monetary donations for scholarships for people in Ethiopia were given to the Moirs.
