Camp Duffield is ready to change lives
Thank you to all those who helped get the camp in shape this past Saturday.  In the past two weeks the friends of Duffield have:
Painted in the inside of Janeway
Painted the outside of Janeway
Put the dock in the pond
Replaced the ceiling in the Outpost bathroom
Cut a mountain of firewood
Put up the tether balls and nets
Fixed the roof on Janeway
Weed wacked
and two women bless their souls cleaned the bathrooms at Janeway
and a thousand smaller but important tasks
On the way down to Duffield on Sat. I was admiring the newly paved road off of route 16 towards the camp.  And I sent up a little prayer, mentioning that it would be nice to have the road in front of Duffield paved as well.   Somehow I wound up being the last one left on Sat, and as driving up to the gate, I noticed a cone in the street.  The street in front of the Camp had been paved.  Who paves Country roads on Saturdays?

Clint McCoy, our Synod  Executive for Partnerships wrote: “As we approach the middle of 2009, I am writing to give you an update on the availability and use of Board of Pensions’ allotted Sabbath Sabbatical Grant Applications for members of the plan.  The Synod of the Northeast has had the pleasure of having approved three grant applications in 2009 for pastors from three presbyteries in the synod.  Eight (8) of the $3,000.00 sabbatical grants are still available this year.  This represents a total of $24,000 available to ministers in our synod for education and refreshment.  Last year seven (7) applications were received and approved, with five grants having gone unclaimed.“  Click here for information about the grants and application information.
