Steven Jelensperger - on Integrating of Prayer into Special Occasions From Pastor Steve: The (music) prayer had its birth at a Worship committee meeting. A discussion was had about what to do to honor the choir and choir director on "Music Sunday.” I offered up that I had found a Frederick Buechner prayer that I modified and used on Confirmation Sunday. I had (also) written a prayer for the Ride for Roswell folk to carry with them while they rode. It only made sense for me to write a prayer to honor the choir. Someone asked if I could expand the prayer to include all the musicians that offer their gifts. Click here for Pastor Steve’s music prayer.
