40 Days of Purpose at Kenmore

Our Church Health Team proposed the 40 Days of Purpose spiritual growth campaign to the session as a means to raise our minimum factors of Need Oriented Evangelism and Passionate Spirituality as identified by the Natural Church Development Survey of November 2007.   We are excited about our entire congregation living in alignment with God’s purposes for their lives, and the impact this could have on our church and our community.

We kicked off the campaign on Sunday, April 26, first with a Pancake Fiesta hosted by the Youth Group and then an exciting worship service which began with the Youth and Pastor Boswell participating in a Drum Circle and then leading the congregation with an “Energizer” which was followed by Songs of Praise by the entire congregation! 

The service included a Kick-Off video entitled “What on Earth Am I Here For?” with Rick Warren. The congregation was invited to make a commitment to participate in the 40 Days of Purpose Campaign at some level.

After Worship, the 40 Days of Purpose Small Group and Sunday School Team invited the congregation to Fellowship Hall for Connection where members received their copies of A Purpose Driven Life and had an opportunity to select a group to meet with weekly as part of their spiritual journey.  The turn out was wonderful and many groups have been formed. We will begin the 40 Days of Purpose Campaign on Sunday, May 3, and conclude with a Celebration on Sunday, June 14. The groups will meet on different days of the week and at homes or at the church.
